hello
Therapy is a unique conversation - a non-judgmental space of empathy needed for change to occur. Each of us need to know and feel lovable and acceptable before we face our traumas. Trauma is an experience we all share and the pain felt can leave us debilitated and hopeless. Trauma can come from many sources and sometimes at the hands of those that were supposed to protect us. The meaning we take away from our traumas can affect every area of our lives. Let's find the meaning, change the narrative, and live in hope.
- trauma -
what happened?
mr. rodgers said, "anything that's human is mentionable, and anything that is mentionable can be more manageable. when we can talk about our feeling, they become less overwhelming, less upsetting, and less scary. the people we can trust with that important talk can help us know we are not alone."
trauma feels chaotic and can manifest in confusing ways. it has a way of getting trapped in the mind and body causing us to be triggered by some of the "smallest" things. let's explore the chaos, identify where it is trapped in the body and together create movement.
my primary technique to create movement is EMDR.
